At January 31, 2009, the unaudited net asset value
attributed to the 138,141,731 shares outstanding of the Third Avenue Value Fund (“TAVF”, “Third Avenue”, or the “Fund”) was $31.08 per share. This compares with an audited net asset value of $34.97 per share at October 31, 2008; and an unaudited net asset value of $56.85 per share
at January 31, 2008, both adjusted for a subsequent distribution to shareholders. At February 13, 2009, the unaudited net asset value was $30.52 per share.
