Definition(s) for COMMODITIES:


1. ) a generic , largely unprocessed, good that can be processed and resold. Commodities traded in the financial markets for immediate or future delivery are grains, metals, and minerals that investors buy or sell, commonly through futures contracts.

2. ) Articles of commerce or products that can be used for commerce. In a narrow sense, products traded on an authorized commodity exchange. Types of commodities include agricultural products, metals, petroleum, foreign currencies, financial instruments and indexes to name a few.
