Definition(s) for DISTRIBUTION:


1. ) May mean: 1) The sale of a block of securities to a number of investors through public offering. This is commonly through a syndicate of investment banks or stock brokers that buy the securities from the underwriter or under- writers and sell them on to their clients. 2) Withdrawals from a retirement plan or IRA. Also, payments of dividends and/or capital gains by a mutual fund, which can trigger significant tax consequences for an investor.
